Tamale Rap Star Fadlan Denies Collab with Northug Music After Midnight Announcement
There’s tension brewing in Ghana’s Northern music scene as a fresh conflict ignites between Tamale-based heavyweight rapper Fadlan and Northug Music, a prominent music label in Wa. What seemed like an exciting announcement has suddenly turned into a public misunderstanding and possible beef.
It all began just hours after Northug Music’s interview on Home Radio, where the label announced that a new collaboration with Fadlan was on the way. The track, titled “Je Je” and produced by Fuji, was revealed as one of the anticipated singles from Northug’s forthcoming “Sa Ku Bo” Album.
Northug hyped the announcement on Facebook, saying:
“I really appreciate all the support I’m getting from my people here in Wa. I see the need recognizing that I see everyone’s efforts. Please share the word that I will announce something at midnight. See you at 12am.”
But by midday, fans were left shocked when Fadlan publicly denied any involvement in the collaboration. In a bold Facebook post, he stated:
“I’m not aware of this. I haven’t cleared any song for you and we haven’t agreed to drop a collab. So I don’t know what you are talking about.”
“RESPECT TO YOU AND YOUR CRAFT BUT TAKE THIS DOWN NorThug Music”
Sources allege that the song in question was recorded over four years ago and never released. Fadlan, now riding high on his lyrical evolution and rebranding, claims he has not given clearance for the old track to be dropped and insists that if there’s any collaboration, it should be something fresh.
Northug Music management, however, maintains that they’ve made repeated efforts to reconnect with Fadlan for a new joint but have been met with silence and delays.
The question remains: Is this a case of miscommunication or is there deeper tension behind the scenes? As fans across Tamale, Wa, and the entire Northern region weigh in, the situation is drawing more attention and sparking heated debates.
