The long-anticipated GNMTA SRC Week Celebration 2025 at the Nursing and Midwifery Training College, Wa, is finally here, and the excitement on campus is electric. This year’s celebration, organized under the leadership of the Students’ Representative Council (SRC), promises to be an unforgettable blend of academic excellence, talent discovery, entertainment, and deep appreciation for the legacy of nursing.
Themed around unity, tradition, and excellence, the week-long festivities will run from Tuesday, 8th April to Saturday, 12th April, 2025, featuring a well-crafted lineup of activities designed to engage every student—whether you’re an academic enthusiast, sports lover, party-goer, or culture admirer.
Tuesday, 8th April 2025 – Kicking Off with Purpose and Tradition
The celebration begins with Afternoon General Cleaning, as students come together to keep the campus environment clean and conducive for the events ahead. Following that is the distribution of SRC-branded items—a cherished moment for many.
The evening will glow with the Candle and Jama Night, a spirited cultural event that combines solemn tradition with vibrant local music and chants, setting the tone for a meaningful and entertaining week.
Wednesday, 9th April 2025 – Academic Showdown Meets Retro Fun
The morning will see the official Launch of the Week followed by the much-awaited Inter-Hall Quizzes, a battle of intellect and academic prowess.
In the afternoon, adrenaline will take over as halls face off in Inter-Hall Opening Matches, setting the stage for days of thrilling sports.
The evening winds down with a nostalgic bang at the Old School Night/Jams—where students dress in vintage fashion and dance to classic hits, reliving the golden eras.
Thursday, 10th April 2025 – Float and Fandom
The morning streets of Wa will come alive with a colorful Float, featuring music, placards, and unity among nursing students as they engage the community.
Later in the evening, it’s time to Rep Your Jersey, as students show love for their favorite sports teams and participate in a fun-packed Pick Act session, showcasing talents and team spirit.
Friday, 11th April 2025 – Debate, Sports, and Glamour
The academic fire is rekindled with the Inter-Hall Debate, where eloquence meets logic and persuasion.
Later, NMTC-Wa will engage in a friendly but competitive Football Match with Jirapa NTC—a game that’s bound to bring massive energy and excitement.
The night belongs to elegance and royalty with the Miss GNMTA Pageant, where beauty meets brains and culture.
Saturday, 12th April 2025 – The Grand Finale
The final day kicks off with the Soccer and Volleyball Finals, as the most talented sports teams battle for glory.
And to crown it all, the Awards, Dinner Night & Talent Show will take place in grand style. It’s a night of recognition, good food, music, and brilliant talent performances from students of NMTC-Wa.

A key highlight of this year’s celebration is the All White Florence Nightingale Candle Night on Tuesday, 8th April, 2025, a solemn event dedicated to honoring the nursing legacy and reflecting on the values that unite students as future health professionals.
